Extended Documentation Portfolio

 

Firstly, a huge thanks for purchasing this theme, your support is truly appreciated! This document covers the installation and general settings of the theme. I encourage you to read this document thoroughly if you are experiencing any difficulties. For more information, please, check out Extended Documentation as well.

For install a new theme you have to make 3 required + 1 optional step:

Step 1

Unzip ThemeName_package.zip file and you’ll get a five folders:

 

Step 2

Browse WordPress folder and find ThemeName.zip file.

 

Step 3

Then open your WordPress admin panel and go to Appearance > Themes > Install Themes > Upload page for uploading ThemeName.zip file.

Activation

Once the theme is uploaded, you will be prompted to activate that. Do it immediately or later at Appearance > Themes page.

Optional

Okay, the theme has been installed. If you wish to use shortcodes & widgets, create a portfolio, tweak a style etc. you need to install a recommended plugin. ST Kit brings an extended functionality to WordPress themes created by StrictThemes.

Installation will takes 10 seconds.

Once the theme is activated you’ll be prompted to install ST Kit plugin. Begin installing plugin.

And click on Install.

During a few seconds ST Kit will be installed.

Congratulations!

The theme has been installed completely. Go to the next steps.

First of all, please, browse Dummy folder and find theme-settings.txt file. Copy & paste that settings into the textarea at Theme Panel > Import-Export page.

Okay, now you can make your own settings. Please, open Theme Panel and make a major settings:

This theme uses WordPress Custom Menus. Go to Appearance > Menus and you will see a panel where you can create new menus. Create one, add your created pages to it (from the left side panels) and save it. After that, in the left side you have a Theme Locations drop down box where you can select the My Menu. Choose your newly created menu, click Save and your menu is ready.

Warning! Projects must be enabled before import process. Install a dummy theme settings.

If you want to have the same website as Live Preview of theme, you’ll need to import demo content.

Please, follow steps:

  1. Go to Tools > Import > WordPress.
  2. Install the plug-in offered and you will see a File form.
  3. Browse and upload /Dummy/content.xml file.

For getting a blog you have to make a three steps:

Step 1

Create a blog page.

Step 2

Select a blog template. Go to Theme Panel > Blog. Select a blog template.

Step 3

Go to Settings > Reading and set the number you want.

Creating posts is nothing new if you have even basic experience with WordPress. StrictThemes offers a few additional options in Post editor.  Below Editor you'll find a two additional meetaboxes: Sidebar and Page Options.

Sidebar metabox

Sidebar metabox gives you ability to select sidebar to display with post or page, and also select layout of post – you can put sidebar on left or right side. Right side is default.

You can create more sidebars in Theme Panel > Sidebar section. Just follow instruction there.

Page Options metabox

Page Options metabox gives you ability to set sub-title or turn off a post title as well as breadcrumbs.

Excerpt

Excerpt is a standard metabox. Just, please, do not forget to use that.

ST themes allow to tweak post page with few clicks and without touching the code. Follow instructions placed under each control element.

For getting a portfolio you have to make a three steps:

Step 1

Create a portfolio page.

Step 2

Activate a projects. Go to Theme Panel > Projects and checkbox Enabled status.

Step 3

Select a portfolio template. Go to Theme Panel > Projects > Portfolio. Select number of projects per page and portfolio template.

Notice this: Each ST theme may comes with different layouts of portfolio templates and different number of portfolio templates.

Creating project is nothing new if you have even basic experience with WordPress and is similar to posts. You can create portfolio project which will your images or video clip. Fill the content and don’t forget to set Featured Image.

All ST themes are comes with two general styles: Light and Dark.

Custom colors

There is possible to change a primary and secondary colors by few clicks. The changes will be applied to all required tags and elements.

Quick way to implement custom CSS styles which will be writed as separated file.

ST framework bring opportunity to set switch between fonts or setup any font from Google Fonts library. Today ST framework compatible with more than Google Fonts 500 fonts.

Google font installation

Please, follow steps:

Step 1

Hit the Custom radio button and switch the font type

Step 2

Choose the font you want from Google library and press Quick-use

Step 3

Select styles.

Step 4

Select characters.

Step 5

Copy and paste code.

Step 6

Copy and paste CSS.
